Q. Who qualifies for a Maternity Grant?

A. A woman qualifies for a Maternity Grant if:

• She has given birth to a child; and
• She or her husband or common law husband has paid to the National Insurance at least seven months in the 10 months immediately preceding the month before the month of confinement.
• Common law union must have existed for five (5) years i.e. they must have lived in the same dwelling as if they were husband and wife for this duration.
